Charming story for cat-lovers
Book of the Week Oh George, where have you been? By Debbie Burchell and Emma Haines, published by Fitzalan Publishers £7.99
Arundel's The Book Ferret not only invites creative classes(see My Literary Diary), but also hosts book launches and recently celebrated Oh George, where have you been?, a charming tale for children and cat-lovers of all ages.
Our hero, glossy-coated George, adventures through playgrounds, haystacks and seaweed but each time returns to his owners' exasperated cry: "Oh Geeorge, where have you been?"
It's a fun book, with beautiful illustrations from Ms Haines and delightful deftness of touch in the writing of Ms Burchell.
If only we were all allowed to roll around in piles of leaves, chase frogs and fall asleep in the sunshine...

Tale of a lively feline
The mischivous antics and adventures of a handsome black cat have been charted in a charming children's book which will be launched during the Arundel Festival.
The author of Oh George, where have you been? is Debbie Burchell, a formr air stewardess and now chiropodist who now lives in Arundel.
She will be signing copies of the colourful, lavishly illustrated book at the BOOk Ferret shop on the town's High Street on August 24th and hopes the tale of her lively feline will win lots more friends for him.
Geoerge has lived with her for four years and now young readers will be able to find out where he goes and what he does when he explores the compass points of his neighbourhood.
"He belonged to a friend and her young daughter Poppy, but we took over George when they moved away from the area and couldn't take all three of their cats with them," Debbie explains.
"Originally I set about writing about him for Poppy, but people who read it said I should do it in book form. It's illustrated by Emma Haines, an award winning artist. I couldn't find an artist locally but one day when I was doing Emma's grandparents feet, I saw one of her pictures on their wall.
I got in touch and asked if she would like a commission and was delighted when she accepted. I sent the words to her and left how she illustrated them entirely to her.
George is a very beautiful long-haired cat, very intelligent and very mischievous - a real character. Emma has captured him to perfection in her drawings."
Debbie hopes Emma will be able to join her for the book signing on August 24th, from 11am - 1pm at the Book Ferret
